Scout's take on today

The card at the top of your Overview. Up to three things worth doing today, why each one matters, and one button that does it.

Updated

Every morning Scout looks through your leads, reviews, orders and requests and puts the few things worth doing today in one card at the top of your Overview. Each one has a one-line reason and one button. The rest of your numbers and lists are right below it, under one plain line about your week.

What the card shows

  1. Open your dashboard. The card at the top is Scout's take on today.
  2. You'll see up to three things, most important first. A lead waiting over a day comes before a review to thank, for example.
  3. Under each line is the draft: what to say on a call, the text, or the email. Tap Show all to read a long one, or Copy to copy it.
  4. With nothing to do, the card says You're caught up and shows the last thing that came in.

Use the buttons

  1. Call opens your phone's dialer with their number. The draft is what to say.
  2. Text opens your phone's messages with the draft already typed in. Read it, change anything you like, and send it yourself.
  3. Reply opens an email draft to them, or the page where you answer, with the draft copied so you can paste it.
  4. Approve opens the finished change Scott made so you can look it over.
  5. Ship opens the order so you can pack it, or pull it for pickup, and mark it done.
  6. Show me how opens the page that does it, with the steps.

Nothing sends on its own. Every button only opens a draft or a page, and you send it.

When it changes

  1. Scout writes a fresh card each morning. The new day starts at 6 AM your time, the first time you open your dashboard after that.
  2. It writes it again the moment a new lead, review, order or support ticket comes in.
  3. Once you handle something (you call the lead back, you ship the order), it drops off the card the next time you open your Overview.

Questions

What does Scout pick from?

Your own records only: leads still waiting over 24 hours, low ratings and good reviews nobody has answered, orders waiting to ship or sitting ready for pickup, a request where Scott needs something from you, a cart someone left with $50 or more in it, holiday hours before a holiday, and the item on your SEO check-in that's yours to do.

Can Scout make something up?

No. The dashboard picks the actions from your records first. Scout only writes the words, from that record's own details, and every line is checked before it shows. If a line has a number or a link that isn't in your records, the plain wording shows instead.

Why does the wording look plain sometimes?

When Scout's writing is off or this month's Scout credits are used up, the same actions show in plain wording. The actions don't change, only the words. It says so at the bottom of the card.

Does this cost extra?

No. It's part of the $1 a month of Scout that comes with your dashboard, the same allowance as Ask Scout. A day's card costs a small fraction of a cent.

Why do I only see three?

One card should cover the day. The rest are still on your Leads, Reviews and Orders pages, and in What needs you below the card.

Does Scott see this too?

Scott has his own version on his Today page for KingsWay's leads and clients, and partners have one on their Home page.
